SunSpeed kit arrives..

Lots of excitement this morning when the kit arrived from SunSpeed in the States. As you can imagine I was eager to unpack and inspect my purchase.

The first thing I set my eyes when opening the box was the manifold. It really is a beautifully made item as are all the parts included.

So here it is, take a look for yourself.

The quality of all the manufactured parts is exceptional, the engine mounts are solid and the ancillary parts are produced to a very high standard. Obviously time will tell its own story but any worries on quality have evaporated and I’m extremely pleased at this stage and comfortable I’ve made the right decision. Many of the parts are branded with the SunSpeed.com logo.

The wiring loom connects your existing ECU and Elise loom to the Honda ECU, it also provides an ODBII plug for laptop diagnostics. See the official blurb here.

Now, the work really starts. I plan to take a week of work to complete the installation, this won’t happen for a months or so as I have pressing work commitments. I have use of my brother’s garage for the actual install as its plenty big enough and much better equipped than my own.

InformationĀ on the extras non-kit parts is found here.

In the meantime, I have still to complete the preparation stage of this build.
